Car Rental Recommendation:

In Costa Rica, it is required to purchase a comprehensive insurance coverage when renting a car. To save on the insurance, we recommend that you contact your Credit Card Company and obtain rental car certification, if this is offered as a benefit for your card. American Express or other travel credit cards offer that. This would save you a great amount of money instead of purchasing the local insurance coverage.

To access El Cielo, which is located atop of the mountain of El Castillo Village, a 4x4 or AWD is necessary.

We recommend that you stop by to get groceries and meat before arriving to El Cielo

Coming From Liberia airport

You may want to stop by Walmart in Liberia to get food and the closest butcher for meat if you want to grill on the Terrace. You can also stop in Nuevo Arenal for Food, gas and butcher it's easy to navigate there is only one street.
